Goal

In this tutorial, you will learn how to upload floating vehicle data from INRIX. This data comes as waypoints CSV files and trips CSV files.

The platform supports multiple types of data sets.

This tutorial covers uploading INRIX trips data. This tutorial assumes you are in the possession of such data, as the tutorial itself does not provide any sample data sets.

INRIX is one of the most important floating vehicle data providers. The data is fully compatible with the xyzt.ai platform and enables analyzing not only local traffic situations, but also country-wide traffic flows.

Uploading INRIX trips data as a movement data set is a multi-step process:

  1. You need to tell the platform how the INRIX waypoints and trips .csv.gz files are structured and which properties you want to use. Keep in mind that the platform can work with any data, not just INRIX data.

  2. You need to tell the platform about the spatial and temporal aggregation characteristics of the created data set.

  3. Once the platform has this information, you can start uploading the .csv.gz files and the platform will process them in highly optimized data structures for then for you to use the data during interactive analysis.

This tutorial will guide you through these steps and will provide templates where possible so that you can get started analyzing your INRIX trips data as quickly as possible.

Free trial accounts don’t support uploading your own data

This tutorial uses functionality that is not included in the free trial version of the platform.
